The history of Turkey Red: In the 1800s, German immigrants from the Ukraine settled in Kansas bringing with them trunks loaded with Turkey Red Wheat berries. For many years, Turkey was the predominant wheat grown in the mid-west until newer, higher yielding hybrids gained popularity. Now Turkey is again being sought after for its unique taste, high protein qualities and the potential that it may be better tolerated by people with gluten intolerance (non-celiacs.)

Our Turkey Red is grown without herbices, pesticides or fungicides.
Turkey Red Wheat--Hard Red Winter Wheat Berries
The 15 and 30 pound orders are purged with inert food-grade CO2 gas and sealed in a mylar bag. The 30 pounds are then placed in a food grade bucket for easy handling. The purging removes the oxygen, preserving the quality of the wheat.
Customers from Alaska and Hawaii: due the the high cost of shipping to your states, we will not be able to ship your 30 lb. orders in buckets. We ship the 30 lbs. in two 16 pound boxes--giving you a little extra wheat instead of the bucket. We are sorry for the inconvenience!
