12 Lbs. Heirloom Variety Turkey~~Hard Red Winter Wheat
The history of Turkey Red: In the 1800s, German immigrants from the Ukraine settled in Kansas bringing with them trunks loaded with Turkey Red Wheat berries. For many years, Turkey was the predominant wheat grown in the mid-west until newer, higher yielding hybrids gained popularity. Now Turkey is again being sought after for its unique taste, high protein qualities and the possibility that it may be better tolerated by people with gluten intolerance (non-celiacs.)
Allergy Alert: May be prepared in an area that also contains milk, egg, fish, crustacean shell fish, tree nuts, peanuts, soybeans and wheat and wheat gluten.
